Teaching in the Open

Teaching in the Open

Various, Israel · Ongoing since 2018

A workshop format that teaches design by rebuilding one public corner a year.

Students design and build a single small thing that strangers will use daily. The critique arrives from the street, not the jury.

One corner a year

A bench, a shade, a stair. Small enough to finish in a term, public enough to be judged honestly.

Teaching is the only part of practice that compounds without a client.
